Offering Diagnostic Services to New England-area Dermatologists and Their Patients
Exeter, NH (February 23, 2010) – Seacoast Pathology a Division of Aurora Diagnostics today announced the launch of its new DermDX division, featuring a new state-of-the-art, on-site laboratory to better service New England-area dermatologists and their patients.
DermDx will offer diagnostic services for complex skin diseases and cancers, with rapid turnaround times for both routine and urgent diagnoses. DermDX’s laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists, and licensed by the Massachusetts and New Hampshire Departments of Health. Board-certified Dermatopathologists Timothy Quinn M.D., C.M. and Anne Allan, M.D. join Aurora Diagnostics Seacoast Pathology’s staff, and share more than 30 years of combined experience in Dermatopathology.
About the DermDX Dermatopathologists
Dr. Quinn conducted his pathology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and completed a fellowship in the Harvard Dermatopathology training program working with the distinguished Dermatopathologists, Dr. Wallace Clark and Dr. Martin C. Mihm, Jr. He holds an M.D., C.M. from McGill University, Montréal, Québec, Canada. He is licensed and certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology, and the American Board of Pathology and Dermatology with a special qualification in Dermatopathology. He also is a member of the College of American Pathologists, the New England Dermatological Society, the American Society of Dermatopathology, and the Massachusetts Academy of Dermatology. He currently teaches at Harvard Medical School where, in 2008, he received the Department of Dermatology Award for Excellence in Teaching.
“I am excited to participate with my long-time friend and colleague, Dr. Anne Allan, to bring to the New England area a new choice in Dermatopathology services,” said Timothy Quinn, M.D. “We offer the expertise of a dermatologist and a pathologist trained in Dermatopathology. Furthermore, this technologically advanced laboratory, with a suite of connectivity options that emphasize communication and information flow, will bring an enhanced level of personalized service to our clinical colleagues and patients.”
Dr. Allan conducted a dermatology residency at Boston University/Tufts Integrated Residency Program, and a fellowship at the Boston University School of Medicine. She holds an M.D. from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, in New York. She received postdoctoral training at the Boston University School of Medicine. She is licensed and certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Dermatology, and the American Board of Pathology and Dermatology with Special Qualification in Dermatopathology. She is also a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and the American Academy of Dermatology, the New England Dermatological Society, the American Society of Dermatopathology, and the Massachusetts Academy of Dermatology. She currently teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Harvard Medical School.
