Aurora Diagnostics Acquires Texas Hospital Pathology Practices

Acquisition Expands Aurora Diagnostics Footprint in Texas

AUSTIN, Texas – Aurora Diagnostics announced today that it has acquired two hospital-based practices of Brazos Valley Pathology, PLLC that provide extensive pathology services to several hospitals in Texas.

The practices, Brazos Valley Pathology, based in Bryan/College Station, and Trinity Pathology Associates, based in Tyler, provide professional pathology services to a number of hospitals, including St. Joseph Health System, College Station Medical Center and Trinity Mother Frances Health System as well as a number of other health facilities and clinics.

Terms of the transaction, which closed July 15, were not disclosed.

“We are excited to welcome the Brazos Valley Pathology and Trinity Pathology Associates pathologists and staff into Aurora Diagnostics as we expand our role as a leading provider of pathology services to hospitals,” said Dan Crowley, Chairman, President and CEO of Aurora Diagnostics.

The newly acquired practices will operate independently as part of Austin Pathology Associates, a similar Aurora Diagnostics practice based in Austin.

In addition, the transaction includes the assets of ProMedX Billing Solutions, L.P., a billing services company for the acquired practices, as well as several other professional pathology providers.

The company’s pathologists are board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, with special expertise and formal training in cytopathology (cellular), nephropathology (kidney), hematopathology (blood), breast pathology and clinical chemistry.
